This is for World of Warcraft. We want to buy the guides and then post the contents on the guild website. I'm guessing this is illegal some how or more would be doing it.

Yes, it is a copyright violation. You can quote excerpts from the books, but not entire chapters or sections. You certainly don't want to post images of the pages. Instead of copying directly, summarize and give credit to the author/text. Otherwise, it's plagiarism.
